30 Years Ago: AUTOPSY release Acts of the Unspeakable

...the third album will be even more different than before. People will trip on that too because everything is different with whatever phase we're in.
The songs are way different, but not like a different style. Certainly not more mellow or anything like that. If anything, its way more harsh. The lyrics are even sicker than Fiend For Blood or anything like that. They're getting real over the top lyrically. Alot of the songs are pretty short on it, which is different for us too, I guess. There will probably be 17 or 18 songs on it this time.

AUTOPSY released their third album on this day in 1992 through Peaceville.

It was be a gatefold type thing with the records, which we, unfortunately, won't get over here. It will have something fairly mellow on the front that won't raise too many eyebrows, ya know. Then you open it up and its gonna be just the most totally insane thing or, at least, that's what we're gonna try for. Just, completely explicit sex and violence and just totally intense. It will be like the lyrics put into pictures. A big scene of just chaos and morbid shit that will cover the whole inside.

In the US, Acts of the Unspeakable was released through the Peaceville / Caroline partnership.

We're really happy because now we finally have a fucking deal. The only thing that sucks, is its gonna have the fuckin' warning printed right on the front all big and shit. Fucking lyrical, whatever it is, discretion advised. It's so gay, man! Its printed right on the front like an inch big even on the cassette. Its not even just a sticker, but its actually going to be printed right on there. So all the little mommies can't fuckin' complain about their kids reading the shit and getting corrupted or whatever, ya know? It's totally stupid.
...I asked [Caroline] what the deal was and they just said they didn't want to get sued. I'm not sure how they would get sued for it, but I guess that's the way its gotta be, I suppose.
