33 Years Ago: TAPPI TIKARRASS release Miranda

It shows how things were operating at the time. We weren't really into marketing or anything, we were just doing it. Even though [the album release] was the night before Christmas, it didn't matter! It was still about having fun and doing whatever we wanted to do.

The first 500 pieces came out, as we know, on the 23rd of December and we had six hours to sell it. It was a horrible time. We were not thrilled with the album, but it was okay.

Icelandic post-punk, TAPPI TIKARRASS released their debut album on this day in 1983.

Miranda was recorded over a couple of weeks at Southern Studios , London.

Everything was delayed and we were very frustrated about that. We came too late to the studios, so London was actually quite edgy. I remember that the boys in the band had a physical fight out of frustration.
