40 Years Ago: SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES release Kaleidoscope

Siouxsie Sioux and her Banshees - with new members Budgie and John McGeoch - released their third album, Kaleidoscope, on this day in 1980 through Polydor.

We definitely had a concept to the album, which was to make each track completely different and, for the first time, we did it without thinking about how we would play any of the songs live. It felt like our first opportunity to get stuck into studio works as opposed to recording the live set, and that was a completely new experience for us.
