As perfect a box set as you could hope for The Sound! Includes the original first-three albums with EPs, singles and b-sides. All of this material has been in and out of print for years. The albums were recently reissued on fairly expensive US versions by Warner, but this box improves in every area. All the extras and the excellent BBC recordings make this essential. Few bands have deserved (and never received) a comprehensive reissue like this.

For anyone with any interest in post-punk, the originals or the new bands (including HATEFUL ABANDON), this is highly recommended.

Review

If there is any shred of justice left in this world, this box set will further cement The Sound's reputation as one of the great post-punk bands. Whilst the five hours of their music might be a daunting prospect, if you have any interest in post-punk past or present, this box set deserves your time and attention. It will repay you handsomely. - 5/5
