15 Years Ago: Teemu Somnium Raimoranta Tribute Concert (Finntroll, Children of Bodom)

Just over a week after Teemu "Somnium" Raimoranta's death, an "In Memoriam" concert was organised and held at Nosturi, Helsinki on this day in 2003.

Teemu "Somnium" Raimoranta (born 19.5.1977), the guitar player of both Finntroll and Impaled Nazarene, died in Helsinki on Sunday the 16th of March in an alcohol-related falling accident. Finntroll and Impaled Nazarene are very devastated for this loss: "Not only did we lose a great guitar player, but we also lost a very good friend"

The lineup included FINNTROLL - with whom he had just recorded the Visor om slutet EP - and former bands BARATHRUM and IMPALED NAZARENE.

At last something positive seem to be going on in here...
Sometime during the January, we're taking recording equipment and barricade ourselves into some cottage in order to record an "acoustic/experimental" mcd, which will hopefully be out during the spring. After that we'll concentrate on writing the material for the full-length. At the moment we have about three songs ready, and I can assure you all, that they kick ass!!!

CHILDREN OF BODOM were rumoured to be playing, then not, but eventually did along with ENSIFERUM and the others previously mentioned.

Entrance was 10 Euros with proceeds going to Raimoranta's family, the event was alcohol-free at their request.
