17 Years Ago: BLASPHEMY live in Canada (Live Ritual: Friday the 13th)

BLASPHEMY played live on this day in 2001. The concert took place in Burnaby, British Colombia (near Vancouver) and was recorded on MiniDisc by YK who released the concert on vinyl as Live Ritual: Friday the 13th later that year, an early Nuclear War Now! Productions release. The CD version was first released by From Beyond in 2002.

In 2001 I was fortunate enough to witness a live ritual by the mighty Blasphemy in Vancouver and recorded it with my MD player. I later got permission from the band to release it on vinyl and that's how the label started.

The lineup for this gig was:

Nocturnal Grave Desecrator and Black Winds - Vocals
Caller of the Storms - Guitars
DeathLörd of Abomination & War Apocalypse - Guitars
Bestial Saviour of the Undead Legions - Bass
3 Black Hearts of Damnation and Impurity - Drums

The Friday the 13th Live Ritual was actually our 3rd show since the reformation. BLACK WITCHERY was up here in July 2000ce for our return, they weren't here for the Friday the 13th assault. We did 4 shows with this line-up: July 2000ce, August 2000ce, July 2001ce and August 2001ce. The first and last shows were with BLACK WITCHERY. Sharing the stage with BLASPHEMY (my all time favorite band) is beyond words to describe...
