19 Years Ago: TULUS release Evil 1999

Evil 1999 was recorded at Panser Studio in Oslo, Norway. It has 10 awesome tracks and we are pleased with the result. We have received good critics. It has a good sound and the music is intense, and it has a good groove. We don't care that much about the millenium, it is just a Jesus number. We chose Evil 1999 because it describes what it is, when it came out and what it is about. And I think it is a good title.

TULUS released their third album, Evil 1999, through Hammerheart on this day in 1999.

Black metal music is very hard and dark, and the lyrics are often about darker sides, so I guess the Devil fits better in the music than God. Nowadays the music is more important than the belief. Before it was maybe more 50% - 50%. Most people in the black metal scene don't know what a satanist really is. For us black metal means a style of music. Tulus has dark lyrics and we get our inspiration from other black metal bands like Mayhem and Darkthrone.
