31 Years Ago: FLOTSAM AND JETSAM release Doomsday for the Deceiver

The power chords raise the dead,
People come alive banging their heads!

FLOTSAM AND JETSAM released their debut on this day in 1986.

Doomsday for the Deceiver is the only FLOTSAM AND JETSAM album with Jason Newsted. Following Cliff Burton's death in September that year METALLICA auditioned new bassists, Newsted joined and began touring with METALLICA in November.

...probably about 60,000 worldwide right now, which is good cos it's still on an independent...and the Jason Newsted thing, that's helped out - we know that last month it sold 15,000 in the States - just last month alone, so it almost doubled itself in the States just for the fact of Jason, which helped us out.
