32 Years Ago: ORDER FROM CHAOS record Inhumanities

We continued on that spring writing new songs and in July of 1988, we recorded "Inhumanities" at a weak local studio. It was a much better effect, though far from our ideal recording (which we are still seeking of course). "Inhumanities" contained 4 tracks: "Victimized", "Apocalypic Visions", "Golgotha (Second Death)" and "The Scourge". "The Scourge" was a re-recording originally having appeared on the first demo in a very primitive version.

ORDER FROM CHAOS recorded their second demo, Inhumanities, on this day in 1988 at Paradise Studio, Raytown.

ORDER FROM CHAOS never set out to be any certain type of band, especially not thrash. We never set out to be a "death metal" band either, but our sound is much more brutal than any thrash type of music, but our concepts are definitely not of a stereotypical death metal type band either.

The OFC sound was developed over these 4 years. We all listened to many different styles of music, but our true force is black and death metal. From ancient gods like VENOM, SODOM, BATHORY, MERCYFUL FATE, CELTIC FROST, HELLHAMMER, we have moved up to our black brothers SAMAEL, BEHERIT, BLASPHEMY, TIAMAT, VARATHRON, ROTTING CHRIST, NECROMANTIA. The total experience of 10 years of brutal music is the definition of the true ORDER FROM CHAOS SOUND and ORIGINALITY. I also listen to other greats: DIAMANDA GALAS, CHRISTIAN DEATH, SAMHAIN?, EINSTURZENDE NEUBAUTEN, and these fully influence my lyrical writings.

ORDER FROM CHAOS are a Mussouri based 3 piece death band. The line-up is as follows: Peter Helmkamp (bass, vocals), Chuck Keller (guitars), and Mike Miller (drums). Pete and Chuck formed the band in jul of '87. Prior to that the two of them were in a band called MINORS IN POSSESSION but that didn't work out. Their first demo was recorded on a four track and according to them it came out really shitty. In july of '88 they then decided to record their first studio demo entitled "Inhumanities". This is a four song demo that, to me, is very impression. The production could be better (but I would guess studios in Missouri aren't experts at engineering death metal bands) but it isn't horrible. The style and sound of the "Inhumanities" tape is very close to that of earth BATHORY especially the vocals and with song titles like "Apocalyptic visions" and "Golgotha (second death)" it leads me to believe that ORDER FROM CHAOS are very BATHORY influenced.
