32 Years Ago: SLAUGHTER live in Toronto (First Ever Live Show - Live Karnage)

The audiences in Toronto, (who get into the music), are the best in the world. From our first show on, we've had thrashers at the front having fun with us. Toronto is soon going to become the paradise of thrash in the world. Sometimes it gets violent, but then it's better than no fucking reaction.
- Slaughter interview, Brutal Torture #1, 1986

SLAUGHTER's first live show took place at Larry's Hideaway and was originally released as SLAUGHTER's third demo, the killer Live Karnage. Recorded in Toronto on this day in 1985. Fellow Torontonians SACRIFICE also played that night.
You can find these tracks on some reissues of Strappado. Prepare yourself for torture!

I remember that show was packed. I also remember I used Ace Hunter's (DEATH ADDER) custom Les Paul Guitar.

We rehearsed like slaves, everyday, up to our first show. This was it - put out - or get crushed. We loved SACRIFICE and we were honored to play with them on the sacred stage!! It was in a rough bar in Toronto called Larry's Hideaway. It was THE bar to play or be seen in. Everyone went there. They had Hardcore Punk Sundays and Heavy Metal nights. It was paradise!!! We killed alot of baby dolls, blew our noses on many a friend, and I stabbed myself with a real sword (by mistake!).
