35 Years Ago: DEATHWISH release At the Edge of Damnation

A lot of the songs on "Damnation" were written ages ago - going back to the bands early days - so we don't think the METALLICA comparisons are justified. Among us we have influences across the whole range of HM from LED ZEPPELIN and BLACK SABBATH to SLAYER and much in between. The next LP will be much faster, although we must stress we're not a punk band who turned thrash just to jump on the bandwagon.

DEATHWISH released their debut album, At the Edge of Damnation, on this day in 1987 through Metalworks.

Metalworks came up with the best offer for us and brought in Pete Hinton to produce the Lp and Mark Dodson to engineer it. It was a one-off deal and the contract expired in November. There were long delays with the LP before the contract was signed. It was mixed (the album) without the bands involvement which we were unhappy about.
