Destroyer 666 - Unchain the Wolves (2015 Reissue) (CD)
Black hearted demons fight the metal fight
Raging from Hades in leather and spikes!
Compiled of 8 tracks with Keith Warslut's soul truly sold as ever to spirit of DESTRUCTION's 'Infernal Overkill' and foundation of early SODOM & BATHORY in four shorter tracks on average 5 to 6 minutes. The other four tracks show climaxing maturity of truly world class compositions ranging from 9 to 11 minutes each with rich complex undertones moving forward to spirit of BURZUM with burning breath of BEHERIT.
Unchain The Wolves is an album that does everything right, every time, all the time. The songs are all mini-classics that carry a perfect balance between atmospherics and aggression, and every tempo change and melody is well fleshed-out and nuanced. KK Warslut's vocals are also in top form here, a tad croakier and more firmly BM-like than on later albums. If you want a sterling example of Black/Thrash done right then you need this album, no excuses. - Metal Observer 5/5
