Originally released during April 2022, VULTYRIUM's self-titled debut was a bold blast of old air. Much like its verdant cover art forecasts - mainman The Vultyrium resplendent in fur, leather, and spikes, wielding a basic-but-effective axe amidst an ancient forest in all its lush mystery - VULTYRIUM mined a different ore for Finnish black metal. Raw and racing but subtly enhanced by a surprising wealth of nuance, the four tracks comprising VULTYRIUM's first full-length walked the fine line between strident, bullheaded minimalism and deceptively aristocratic songwriting. All-caps BLACK METAL this indeed was - and, for trainspotters, not-inconspicuous nods to France's Concilium collective during the 1990s could be detected - but its journey was a unique one, epic as it was ugly. Now finally seeing vinyl release, new reasons to escape to the forgotten realms of Vultyrium!
