Finnish black/death metal, FUNERIS NOCTURNUM released their second album - From the Aspect of Darkly Illuminated - on this day in 2001 through Woodcut Records.
Their third and final album, Code 666, followed in 2002. Most members are now active in SWALLOW THE SUN, other related bands include KUOLEMANLAAKSO and VERIVALA.
...the music is somewhat technical, but that comes naturally due to the the fact that we have highly skilled musicians in the band. The songs are not composed to be technical, they just turn out that way. And yes, we do use synths, but they do not have a dominant role in our music. We do our music like this because we want to, and everything else means no fuck to me.
