25 Years Ago: AT THE GATES release With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness

On the new LP/CD there will be no violin, 'cause we had no violinplayer that is interested in playing fulltime with us. But maybe we will use violin on our next release, however that seems so far away. The technical side of our band has developed a lot but it doesn't disturb the songs the way it did on "The Red...". All true listeners will find that although our style is quite permanent it's more like a mature version of what we did before, and I feel that is the way we will pregress in the future.

AT THE GATES released their second album, With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness, on this day in 1993 through Deaf Records (Peaceville).

A few months later they played a "Peaceville Showcase" four-date UK mini tour with ANATHEMA and MY DYING BRIDE. The first of these was at Nottingham's Rock City.
