Formed in 2000, their goal was to create nihilistic and progressive black metal, and with their 2nd album they've really fine-tuned their unique and original sound. "World Suicide Machine" showcases the intensity, coldness and brutality as a black metal album should do, but it also has an original sound with the songs eerie riffs and strange atmospheres. There're also hints of old-school thrash in there. The tracks are varied, both in pace and feeling. Skaldic Curse takes inspiration from different bands like Mayhem, Voivod, Darkthrone and Rush, and manages to create their own unique and original style.
Review
World Suicide Machine is dark, scathing, and violent yet somehow the music also transcends these roots for a pensive and dreamlike quality. This album is highly recommended for all lovers of terrifying and creative music. - Nocturnal Cult 5/5
